The AP2750 utilizes standards-based integration with the Wireless LAN switch and/or controller for plug-and-play installation. Configuration details for all MAPs are centrally distributed for consistency and accuracy resulting in simplified initial deployments and easier management. Automated network controls at the wireless switch improve MAP coverage and service by optimizing RF gain, assigning radio channels, load balancing and even sweeping the RF environment as required, either continuously or on-demand. MAP encryption provides for local traffic encryption, and distributes encryption processing across the network, rather than relying on one central device. RF scans can be used not only to locate users, but also to identify and isolate potentially harmful rogue APs or other infiltrators. Allowing network wiring flexibility, the AP2750 can be linked directly or indirectly to a 3Com Wireless LAN Switch or Controller through existing wired networks, even across Layer 3 boundaries. Additionally, the AP2760 can receive its power via standard PoE (Power over Ethernet) either directly from a Wireless LAN Switch or from any 802.11af compliant PoE device.
Main Features:
- Supports 802.11 a or b/g for speeds up to 54 Mbps at distances up to 100 meters (328 feet)
- Dual-mode radio allows operation for 802.11a or 802.11b/g
- Each AP2750 can handle multiple BSSID/SSIDs to appear as multiple access points
- Supports 802.3af-compatible Power over Ethernet (PoE)
- Dual-mode 802.11a and 802.11b/g antennas provide excellent performance and coverage in high multi-path
- Performs packet encryption over the air for dynamic WEP, TKIP, and AES
- Allows independently encrypted and isolated subnets or VLANs while using the same SSID
- RF multi-band sweep
- Requires no pre-staging or pre-configuration of access points
- Allows MAPs to be directly and/or indirectly connected to their managing wireless LAN switch
- Optimizes RF cell size and support international requirements
- Provides comprehensive MAP control and management as MAPs are not operational in stand alone mode. All Attributes such as channel number, power level, SSIDs, and security settings are all handled by the wireless LAN switch or controller for additional security
